Junior High Gifted and Talented Program
Crestwood offers the Gifted and Talented (G&T) program for students Grades 7 - 9 for students identified as "Gifted and Talented", as coded by their elementary school. Students coded G&T are eligible to apply to the Program.
The G&T program supports students who have advanced intellectual ability compared to other students their age. These students have exceptional potential or ability across a wide range of areas, from creative thinking to understanding abstract relationships.
The G&T program presents the curriculum delivered at a challenging pace, allowing us greater instructional time for enrichment activities; enabling a focus on critical thinking, inquiry, and problem solving; presenting an environment where teachers encourage students' development of strategies, of a growth mindset, all within a “culture of learning” from mistakes; and the program presents a lively and productively busy room, where students engage in collaboration, in meaningful debate, in vibrant discussion, in authentic peer feedback, and in goal setting. There is active questioning by both teachers and students!
Interested families already with an EPSB school must express interest for program application through consultation with their current Grade 6 school. The elementary school will notify families of results and will SNAP (Special Needs Assisted Placement) your child to our program. You are not required to complete a portfolio. Schools can complete this process from February 2-9, 2026. To qualify for this program, students must meet Gifted and Talented eligibility requirements.
Contact your child’s current elementary school to discuss options and eligibility.
