JUNIOR HIGH ACADEMIC ALTERNATIVE

The Academic Alternative Program is for junior high students who meet entrance criteria prior to entering the program in Grade 7. Applications for Grade 7 will be available Friday, January 9, 2026 and are due Friday, January 30, 2026.

We provide core programming that develops interdisciplinary connections through inquiry and project-based instruction designed to enhance and broaden curricular outcomes.

We offer French as a Second Language for all students in junior high. Students have a choice of Band, Art or Communication & Media for their primary option course.

In addition to their full year option, students have a secondary option each trimester. Options have included Sports Performance, Drama, Active Living, Leadership, Strategy and Design, Jazz, STEAM (Extra Science), and Outdoor Education. These options vary based on student demand and teacher expertise.
